Getting started
- How does outpoof work?
- You name a niche. That is enough for a hands-off run: we research bestsellers, invent sayings, generate designs, filter failures, remove backgrounds, and upscale to print resolution. Or add your own exact sayings and style notes for a hands-on run where your text is locked in. You review results and approve only what you want to list. Credits are only charged on approval.
- Do you invent the sayings, or do I bring my own?
- Both. Submit a niche only and we invent market-fit sayings from bestseller research. Or paste exact text and style notes: those become hard constraints the AI cannot change. You can switch per job.
- Do I need any design experience?
- No. You write a niche name, press submit, and review what comes back. The entire pipeline (research, saying generation, image generation, quality filtering, background removal, upscaling) runs automatically. No Photoshop, no prompts, no configuration.
- What are the free credits for?
- Every new account gets 5 free credits, no card required. Spend them when you approve designs (1 credit for Standard, 2 for Premium). Generation and preview review are free. Downloading approved files is also free.
- Do I need a credit card to sign up?
- No. You can sign up, submit jobs, and review designs using your free credits without adding a card. You only need to add a payment method when you purchase more credits.
- Can my team share one account?
- Not yet. One account is for one user. Team and multi-seat access is not available today.
Designs & quality
- What file format and resolution are the designs?
- Every design is delivered as a transparent PNG at 4500 x 5400 pixels, 300 DPI. That is the exact spec required for Merch by Amazon. The file drops straight into the upload form with no resizing.
- What is the difference between Standard and Premium quality?
- Standard (1 credit) uses a fast generation model and is great for most niches. Premium (2 credits) uses a higher-fidelity model with better text rendering and more detail, useful for intricate designs or when text legibility in the design matters.
- What if I don't like any of the designs, or a job fails?
- Reject designs you don't want to list. Generation is free and credits are only charged on approval, so you pay nothing for skipped designs. If a job fails entirely due to a pipeline error on our side, no credits are consumed for that job.
- How does the quality filter work?
- Before a design reaches you, the pipeline checks whether it meets basic quality standards. Designs that fail the check are automatically retried. What you see in your review queue has already cleared that bar. You never sort through obvious failures.
- Can I add my own sayings or style notes?
- Yes. In the brief form you can enter your own exact text (it becomes a hard constraint the AI cannot change) and free-form style notes like "70s vintage, bold sans-serif, dad-joke energy, no skulls". Both shape the output without restricting the pipeline.
- Can I request specific colors?
- You can describe color preferences in your style notes: "earthy tones", "bright neon", "black and white only". The pipeline treats these as guidance, not a guaranteed constraint, but they reliably influence the output direction.
Credits & pricing
- When do I pay credits?
- Generation is always free: submit jobs and review every preview at no cost. Credits are deducted only when you click Approve (1 credit for Standard, 2 for Premium). Downloading the full PNG after approval is free, including re-downloads. Approval is final: you cannot un-approve or reject a design once credits have been charged.
- Can I download before approving?
- No. You see watermarked previews for free. The full-resolution transparent PNG unlocks only after you approve and pay the credit for that design. You can download it as many times as you want afterward at no extra charge.
- How much does a design cost?
- You pay only when you approve. Standard designs cost 1 credit on approval, Premium designs cost 2. Credit packs range from $0.20 to $0.30 per credit depending on pack size. A Standard design works out to $0.20-$0.30 and a Premium design to $0.40-$0.60, compared to $2-$25 for a freelancer equivalent.
- Do credits expire?
- No. Credits never expire. Use them when you're ready.
- Is there a subscription?
- No. outpoof is pay-per-credit. Buy a pack when you need it. There are no monthly fees, no auto-renewals, no seat licenses.
- Can I get a refund on unused credits?
- No. Credits are non-refundable once purchased. Generation is free and credits are only charged when you approve a design. Use the 5 free signup credits to evaluate the service before buying a pack.
Legal
- Who is responsible for IP compliance when I list designs?
- You are. You are solely responsible for ensuring designs you publish comply with trademark, copyright, and marketplace rules (e.g. Merch by Amazon). outpoof provides AI-generated files only. outpoof is not liable for account suspensions, takedowns, legal claims, or damages arising from how you use or list designs.
- Do I own the designs?
- Yes. You get full commercial rights to every design you approve. Sell, modify, sublicense. They are yours. outpoof retains no rights to approved designs.
- Can I use the designs on other marketplaces?
- Yes. Approved designs are yours to use on Merch by Amazon, Redbubble, Etsy, Printful, Printify, your own Shopify store, or anywhere else. No platform restrictions, no exclusivity.
- Where is my data stored and who can see my briefs?
- Your briefs and generated designs are stored in private cloud storage. No human at outpoof reviews your niche briefs. Your niche ideas stay private.
Billing & invoices
- Do you provide proper invoices?
- Yes. Every credit purchase is processed through Stripe, which issues a full invoice with your business name, VAT line item, and itemized credit purchase. The invoice is immediately available in your Stripe receipts and is tax-deductible as a business expense.
- Is VAT applied?
- VAT is applied where required by law, handled automatically through Stripe Tax. The checkout will show the applicable VAT for your location before you confirm the purchase.
Niches & output
- What niches work best?
- Anything with a clear community identity performs well: professions (nurse, teacher, mechanic, firefighter), hobbies (hiking, fishing, yoga, gardening), pets (dog mom, cat dad, bunny owner), sports, and lifestyle identities. Specific niches produce more targeted output than broad ones. "ER nurse" outperforms "healthcare worker".
- How many designs should I order per job?
- Start small (5 to 10 designs) to validate output quality for a new niche before scaling up. For proven niches, 50-design batches are efficient. You can always submit multiple jobs for the same niche.
- Can I submit multiple jobs at the same time?
- Yes. You can submit jobs for different niches in parallel. Each job runs independently through the pipeline.
- Does outpoof work for non-English niches?
- Not yet. The pipeline is built for English niches and sayings only. Submit your niche and text in English for reliable results. Other languages are planned.
